Hey Everybody!

3 months ago i started Surf Town Coffee Company on Newport Oregon's Historic Bayfront.

Upon opening we decided to carry Organic, Fair Trade, and CO-OP Grown coffee! This turned out to be a big hit with all of our customers and the overall taste of our coffee was exactly what we were looking for!

When i opened i rented time on my friends roaster and was able to do my own micro batch roasting for a few months until i got to the point of selling a higher volume of coffee which has allowed me to now purchase my own roaster!

In the last month we have added another location on the Bayfront and in the last week have set up an entire Roastery at our original location. We now are building a supply line of wholesale coffee around the area and have great walk-through traffic from faithful patrons/soon to be patrons!

Our shops have a wonderful surfing town feel to them and my original location i did all the finish work on the walls using recycled materials! This gives the shop a very rustic and fun look which is both inviting, and a great idea for any new business in this world.

We believe in green products and healthier living, and with nothing but love going into each roast we are excited to let you try a cup and hear what you say!

WOW! Great job... two locations in less than 6 months.. Okay what are you doing here? I got cold feet when I was about to sign a lease for my second location... my life flashed before my eyes, all I could think of is do I have the time to run 2 locations and keep the quality that I strive for. I decided my second location will be a much smaller space than I have now. Ideally a coffee bar with room to seat about 10, rather than the 40+ seating that I have now.

Are you just coffee? Do you really open at 11am?
Hey Barry,

Our key to success has been mirroring each business to run the same, have the same training, and the same great products with a similar layout. Our shops have seating for around a max of 12 people or so and one of our shops only does coffee and ice cream. Our other shop does only coffee, fruit smoothies, and soft serve ice cream. So we keep our products limited and excel at what were good at.

We have been opening at 11 due to foot traffic. but our hours may be changing soon to accommodate an earlier crowd.

Best of luck in your expansions.
Sounds great! Just my style. If I get down to Newport (I'm just north of Portland) I will certainly check it out.
