Hello Fellow Baristas,

I haven't posted on here in a long time but I was informed by my company that we need to have frequent daily pre-shift meetings at the beginning of each shift (AM, MID, PM.) I'm all for motivation and getting everybody on the same page and I do have a template that we use to write our sales goals, what's 86'd, any promos or specials we are running, and what not. The problems I'm running into are:

*I can't have a specific time during the day to have these little 5 minute meetings because we are constantly busy and the shifts are all staggered. My AM people arrive at 6am, 7am, and 8am and I don't want to have 3 separate meetings during 1 shift. Same goes for mid, I have one that comes in at 11, 12, and 1.

*I can't seem to get the keyholders to consistently have these meetings when I'm not at the store. Of course I can have them document the conversations and hold them accountable for missed pre-shifts, but is there a way to get them excited to have pre-shift meetings?

I guess I'm just looking for any type of opinions, suggestions, or advice on effectively having pre-shifts in a coffeehouse environment.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Sarah... well in my opinion, you can do your pre meetings at first shift then the staff could relay the message to the next shift along with some notes in case they forgot..
