Good Afternoon all!

For the last 12 years I have worked in the coffee business. Several different stores, catering, cupping, managing. The works. Eventually I would like to own my own business, but somehow I find myself a little trapped. My intentions are local food, that is good for you- and I do believe there is still a little warm heart in WI that could shape my adventure.

Any ideas on the importance of location versus mission statement?

The importance of location for a business and the importance of location for your business are not necessarily the same.

A mission statement is nothing more than words on a paper.

Neither is more or less important than the other in and of themselves. Understanding what will make a great location and knowing how to use that to your advantage. And it's about executing your mission statement -- turning it into something you DO and do well. It is these kinds of things that will be important.

Thanks for your insight John.

I suppose location wouldn't necessarily be the first priority of addressing.

As to me a mission statement should never be words on paper. They are the fundamentals that have created how I live, why, and to what extent must we raise the bar.

Location Location Location

Take it from someone who has a bad location.

Location is the only thing that matters.  Find a great one.
