PS. any other food/restaurant recommendations you feel like sharing are very much appreciated!

In no particular order . . .

All in Manhattan

1. Stumptown at the Ace Hotel - duh, it's stumptown.
2. Ninth Street Espresso - hardcore purveyors of awesome coffee
3. Gimme Coffee
4. Cafe Grumpy
5. Abraco - started by former Blue Bottle barista
6. Everyman espresso - started by former Ninth Street barista
7. Joe: the art of coffee
8. El Beit - started by former Albina Press from PDX
If you're feeling daring, chef Joe Dobias opened JoeDoe. The menu is as delicious as it is impulsive and innovative. Grab a pink elephant two doors down at the thai restaurant The Elephant.

If you can score a seat, only 12 in the place, Momofuku Ko is amazing. Chef David Chang serves some great food. Reservations at momofukuko.com, make them six days in advance before 10 am. $100 prix fixe. Worth it.

Adour Alain Ducasse at The St. Regis, with Joel Dennis and Alain Ducasse at the helm is elegant and decadent. Over 1800 wines, with at least 50 under $50, and all of them are fantastic. Desserts are the ultimate here! Cold chocolate coated tiramisu style with pudding, coffee granita, vanilla cream and a gold-leafed chocolate disk. CRAZY AWESOME!

FYI: Don't drink the coffee at any of these places, New York may have great cafes and great restaurants, but I have yet to find both in one. If you do, let me know!
What Lorenzo said plus Third Rail for another purveyor of Intelli.
Lorenzo and Steve,

Thank you so much!!! Your recommendations sound great; I can’t wait to try them all!

I would actually point you towards Ost for a purveyor of Intelly. Third Rail does a good job, but Ost has a good amount of seating and some good meat/cheese options going on.

If you're interested in anything in Brooklyn let me know, there is a font of options here and it is a much more relaxed atmosphere than Manhattan.
Brooklyn sounds cool! What can you recommend?
Thanks guys for all your suggestions. Manhattan was full of snow, beautiful architecture, and fantastic espresso.
Thanks again and Happy New Year!
