I've been researching this until my eyes are buggy, and I'm hoping someone with experience on either or both of these machines will chime in.  I've read the Titan Grinder project, and all the specs on both, but I'm hoping someone can give me their personal experience/thoughts.

My cafe needs to jump to a bigger, meaner grinder.  We're going through 100-150+ lbs of espresso a week. We need to get some grinders with great through-put, good durability, good temperature control, seems like conical is the answer.  Roburs look like the way to go, but I keep seeing Compak K10's come up, and obviously they have a more attractive price-tag.

Anyone have any comments on these machines, outside of the price?  Is there a knock-down reason to get the Mazzer regardless of the Robur's higher price?  My thought is: $3,000 isn't the end of the world, when you're talking about (one of) the most important pieces of equipment in the cafe, but I need to convince some other people of this before it's going to happen.

Love my Compak!  We are starting to swap out all of our older grinders (multiple locations) for the K10.  Fast, quiet, and I like the flavor profile vs. smaller flat burrs.  Really like the ergonomics of the dosing mechanisms.

That said, I keep eyeing up doserless options.  I have high hopes for the Compak "Fresh" or a timed k10 doserless, hoping to get my hands on one of those at a showroom in a bit here, but I also see an awful lot of the Robur Es around and I like the look of their distribution.  Anybody get a percentage count on how many regional barista finalists were using Roburs?  I suspect it's pretty high.

So, it's been over a year and, assuming anyone who posted is still around, how's your Compak holding up?
Where are you finding these K10 doserless? (BTW, is this what they call "K10 Fresh"?) I can't seem to find anyone that has them in stock.
To the best of my knowledge the Compak K10 Timer/Doserless was a prototype for the new K10 Fresh line of grinders. I could be mistaken on this but that's what I was told when I ordered mine. I'm sure the new one is excellent but I actually like my tools to be simple and the K10 Doserless is just that.
It is not in the current product lineup. There were some complaints about it (I think its the only Compak Jared doesn't love :), though I saw a great extended schnozzle modded versions in use at the SERBC. He received one the only perfect "acceptable waste" scores using it.
