Machine Issues - Pump turns on but no water comes out of the grouphead

I am having some more issues with my El Salvatore home machine.  When I turn it on everyday, it always activates the vibe pump for a second, then it builds pressure and works like a charm.  Now when I turn it on it activates the pump, turns it off, activates it, turns it off, and so on until I turn it back off.  When I try to brew water when I first turn it on nothing comes out, but the pump is constantly on.

This started happening while I was backflushing once, it made a weird noise when I turned the pump off, and then when I turned the pump back on to continue backflushing the pump just continued to run, and not stop like it normally does while backflushing.  I recently had issues with the 3-way solenoid, but it was replaced, so I can't see that being the issue.

Any ideas?  Thanks for any insight you could provide!

Not to ask too many questions, but... who replaced the solenoid? Can you describe your backflush regimen?

When the pump is running (not during backflushing) like you describe is water coming out anywhere such as in the drip tray? Has the machine been descaled recently?

As I was typing answers to your questions, I went back to try the machine again to make sure no water was leaking anywhere, and it was doing the same thing it was before.  And as I was trying to find out what was wrong before I looked everywhere but the most obvious place - the water tank.  Usually a red light comes on telling me I'm low on water, which it decided not to do this time, and of course I didn't check the water level, so that seemed to be the culprit.

I filled it and it seems better now.  I apologize for making you read this discussion, and I have now discredited myself completely.  I guess we all have those days, thanks for your help anyway!
