I first heard of the book as a thing of legend, but was never able to get my hands on a copy. It's a beautiful book in many ways. "The Bible of the Coffee Trade" according to Sweet Maria's

Super fun book. Actually I believe that the original publication was 1922, with a second (much expanded) edition in 1935 that is still reprinted and widely available. I'm lucky enough to live in a Laramie, WY, where the University library has a 1935 edition (not even in their rare/antiquities, wtf?) so check the shelves. Anyway, I've browsed although not read thoroughly. I recommend checking it out.
Thanks for the info on the publication I had a lot of trouble finding a good source on the history
