I think with any new piece of gear you have to start with an open mind, which means what may have worked before technique wise, will probably need some tweaking. I have used the Cafelat pitchers for some time now, and initially I couldn't achieve the same results as with traditional straight sided pitchers. Give it some time, and experiment with different volumes of milk (They tend to favour less) and angles whilst both steaming and pouring.
