I don't exactly know where this belongs. But the 'Other' category will go unlooked at.

I want to buy green coffee for roasting, and like everyone else, I want the best coffee I can find. The problem is I can't find it. I know of a few farms that are fantastic, I can get green beans from hasbean coffee, and probably form a local shop (other than where I work).

But, I'd really love to buy form a co-op or directly, however, I'm not sure if that's possible or realistic. I'm sure they don't care about tiny orders, and I'm not even sure how to go about this on a wholesale scale for a shop. This topic has been brought up many times, and I've even brought it up for myself trying to understand how the shops do it. But the answers have been annoyingly redundant and obvious (sorry, I don't mean to sound rude), but I do know there are many people using this site who source their own coffee.

Is this possible? I'd prefer to avoid sweet marias, but...it is convenient.

Thanks, no biggie if you don't know

Avoid Sweet Maria's, why? Serious question. Tom is a world class cupper, travels to in-country extensively and sources only the very best micro-lots, usually farm gate. He's built his business on a rock solid reputation of excellent greens for home roasters and excellent customer service.

Think you can do better? Good luck.

I don't have experience with them and that's why (no need for the hostile last phrase). I've watched their roasting tutorials, and they seem to ruin all their coffee. So I'm judging off what I've seen by that. It's the trust factor that get's me.

this goes for everyone who doesn't know: Hasbean is one of the best roasters in the world. He another group of 7 others are part of the coffee common. Grade A coffee.

I learned that hasbean has over 3 pages of coffee from JUST south America. ....basically....he has ton of the best green you can get. Each one has it's own in my cup video that goes over the coffee's story and he has it graded right there for you to see.

Stephen the owner is extremely nice and he has sent me up to two emails / day to answer all of my annoying question.!

SO, check out where I hasbean

Yup, Tom's a hack and ruins roasted coffee. Oh wait, he won the SCAA Single Origin Roasted Coffee of the Year competition 2009 and 2010.
