Hello Everyone,

Just joined the barista exchange looks great. Needed a place speak and get information with people of a like mind.

For example just had someone walk into my shop and order a "Breve Cappuccino" never heard of such a thing! I understand it but believe they do not understand it. Most of the time my customers are ordering a cappuccino and wanting it very wet. Why order it just order a latte.

Any clarity here?

I'm not sure who is more confused, you, the customer or me... haha.

Breve=1/2 and 1/2.
Cappuccino= a type of beverage

Breve Cappuccino= that type of beverage, but with 1/2 and 1/2

A cappuccino isn't the same thing as a foamy latte. There is no such thing as a 16oz Cappuccino or a "Large Capp." A cappuccino is a 6(ish) oz beverage, period... only. So what the customer wanted was a 6oz beverage with either one or two shots, depending on how traditional they are and then topped with foamed half and half.

Bryan,

Thanks I believe we are on the same page. What you called a cappuccino is just what I think of as a cappuccino. When people order a 16 oz Cap I sort of look at them and say you want a latte....? Because I have never heard of a 16 oz cappuccino.

Regards,
Mr. Rifugio
