We are looking to start a bakery in our small community but feel that coffe products are essential to being successful. We know nothing about coffee and need a quick course. Got any ideas? We are located near Reno, Nevada

Glad to see that someone local has joined us... and that you have a cupping option.

If you want to offer a quality espresso program, you should plan to attend one of the various training opportunities AND either try to find a little work as a barista in a current shop OR hire an experienced barista. Check with the SCAA or any of the trainers operating in your area. Your roaster would also be of assistance here too.

I happen to think that learning how to run an espresso bar and making espresso drinks properly is no less difficult than learning to bake, so please don't underestimate what you are getting in to.

Good luck.
