Looking for input on our grinders...
We have an Anfim and 2 Mazzer Super Jollies.
I don't like the Jollies much and I think it's because their small burrs get hot.  They stay on the bar for decaf and for trials.
The Anfim is nice but I wish it had more capacity for smaller adjustments to coarseness.
Does anyone have experience with Roburs and Anfims?  I'm wondering if I should replace the Anfim for the main espresso grinder...Or is it no better than the Anfim?
What is better than those 2?

There's a good thread addressing just this comparison on Coffeed. (A roaster with multiple locations in Canada chimed in, as they replaced all their Anfims with Roburs.) David Schomer has also done something with it on his blog, too--I believe he liked the robur better b/c of increased fines/mouthfeel with the conical burrs. But not many bad things were said about the Anfim SC. Some think you get better clarity/high notes with it.
I work with Anfims and they're definitely solid grinders, especially for the money. good grind quality, effortlessly clean dosing. I've done more or less side by side comparisons though (running the blend I was going to use for competition, on a NS Aurelia, same day, same batch of coffee- but not pulling shots with both simultanously, or religiously adhering to one dos or exact flow rate) and the taste and mouthfeel of my coffee off the robur was a lot nicer: the faster, quieter grinding was an added bonus.
What's no so great about the robur is the way the standard doser throws coffee everywhere but the center of the basket (but if you've got SJs on the bar maybe you're used to it), or the added expense. The added weight is sort of a toss up: I hated carrying that Robur, but also hate the way our Anfims dance around the counter.
This thread was me asking a similar question. Short answer: Compak K10 wbc is a good grinder! I wish I had the opportunity to play around more with different models so I could compare and contrast more, but I can say pretty confidently that this is a good grinder--we have a high-volume shop, and it's really met our needs well.

I hear you on the Super Jolly woes, I wish they would put a warning label on those or something.
SOme good points, thanks!
The Anfim is a counter-dancer and I forgot about the Mazzer Fling (we use the SJs so infrequently). I think Espressoparts or someone fab'd a fix for the fling thing. We have been kjnown to stick a business card on the doser to direct trhe grinds. I calculated that we were wasting over a pound per day with the Supers.

The Anfim does dose beautifully. We took all the guts out of the doser and it's even better than before and easier to clean.

I have only used the Compaks a few times. A friend runs one and Anfims and he uses the Compak for his decaf so I wonder what's up.
I'll check out the threads you recommended.
