Life's Too Short to Drink Bad Coffee. Do you believe and live that? Coffee has always been about being a Culinary experience since the first time I smelled fresh roasted, fresh ground coffee brewing at the age of 30. And was hooked for life. Prior to that fateful day in 1984 I'd tried coffee numerous times and it always tasted like crap. So when asked if I'd like a cup visiting a friend in SF I declined. But the smell, the SMELL brewing made me change my mind. I'd never smelled anything like it. Then the taste of that first cup (black of course) and it was delicious! And so my Journey began. Which led to beginning the coffee roasting part of my Journey 15 years ago and flipping Corporate America the Bird and turning Coffee Professional 6 years ago buying an existing Deli & Espresso Bar and moving a roaster into the tiny space. (Roaster moved to larger location a year later.)

It's easy to turn beans brown, it's a lifetime Journey learning to make beans Sing. I'm looking for the right person to join me in my Journey as Head Bean and Roast Master of Compass Coffee as my roasting apprentice. A long term commitment on both our parts. I'm not getting any younger and feel the need to plan for the future of Compass Coffee. Are you The someone who's passion and continual thirst to learn will guide you to eventually taking the reins as Roast Master for Compass Coffee?
