Howdy Y'all, Just thinking out loud.

I've been brewing V60/chemex for quite a while now, and sometimes I question every cup I make because I'm afraid I'm developing a taste for the way I make coffee, however, I always enjoy it! : )

For me, I prefer an 8oz coffee. I make the best coffee this way, not to say that I can't develop my larger portion skills.

I'm running about 1:38 -1:45, and In the end, I'm sure the grounds hold about an ounce of the water I started with. So maybe it's about 7oz.

I think this is ideal after doing many experiments. What are your thoughts?

My chemex runs about 2:45-3 minutes for 16oz. I know the chemex filters can be a bit of a bummer when working with really bright coffees, so maybe I could run this a little longer?

Anyways, thought I'd share the way I do my pour over.

This summer I'm building an acrylic drip station like the hario station from vissionsespresso.com, so hopefully I'll be able to do a lot of side by side tastings. How important is a drip tray for HOME use only?

I use the slim mill now because that's all I could afford at the time. I love it, but does this compare to a home burr grinder? Obviously the the speed, capacity, and mechanics are totally different, but as for quality is it similar? Would it be worth my money to invest in a solid $200-$250 grinder so I can actually brew many cups at once a LOT faster?

Thanks
