I am appointing an employee into a supervisory position and am struggling as to what title to give the new lofty position. I have a small shop with 6 very close employees. I do not want the one whom I am promoting to feel uncomfortable with her title around her friends and peers. Supervisor sounds stuffy Manager sounds too all empowering… any suggestions?

team leader?
Good, but may not say enough... Sounds fast foodish
head barista?
I thought about that... I like it, but you know how barista's are... I don't what the other barista's think that I am saying she is a better barista than they are... she is more responsible, and reliable and has a good head on her shoulders. That one may work hmmm
from my athletic background...team captain?
maybe have them think of a fun title?
I like captain... Track captain here (over 20 years ago).
I'm thinking OTBG (what we refer to our shop as) Captain.
i think captain says "still part of the team, but with responsbilities"
Yes it does... It also says "Is the heart of the team". The more I think of it, the more I like it!
Thanks a bunch, I think she will like it also
How about Supervisor?
What about shift lead....shift supervisor....?
