Event Description

At 7pm at Drop Coffee’s roastery in Stockholm, Sweden and simultaneously at Kofeina Art Cafe in Opole, Poland 16 baristas Swedish baristas and 16 Polish baristas will assemble and do what we do best, pour some awesome lattes.

There will be three judges at each site. Those judges will be shown lattes from the other location ONLY, and will rate the design on a scale of 1-5. So the most points any drink can score is 15 and the least is 3. The point of the judges scoring only the drinks from the other site is that this SHOULD keep all things honest, not that I don’t trust our colleagues or vice versa but, you take what measures you can. This means that baristas won’t necessarily be going head-to-head with their international counterparts, the Swedish TEAM will be going against the Polish TEAM head-to-head.

The baristas with the top 8 scores from each side advance to the next round and the process is repeated again, this time the top 4 scores from each side advance.

The last chance for any team to score points will be the “elite eight” round (four from each site.) After this round the winner of the team portion of the competition will be determined based on the team with the most points. Then the top 2 baristas from Sweden will go head-to-head (no points, best pour wins) and the same for Poland. Finally, the top Swedish barista will go head-to-head (via Skype) with the top Polish barista and the overall winner will be crowned!

Up with coffee!
