Event Description

Kaldi's will be hosting a barista jam on Nov. 7 and 8 at our roasting facility in St. Louis. The jam will be centered around preparing for a barista competition and raising awareness and quality at the retail level. Of course, there will be a latte art challenge as well.

Some exciting news about the jam as of 10/20/08:

First, we are excited to announce two very special guests! Jon Lewis of Long Story Short Coffee will be presenting at the Jam on how to combine customer service, quality, and passion at the retail level. Pete Licata, the reigning midwest regional barista champion, will be guiding first-time-barista competitors through the rigors of how to practice and prepare.

Second, we will be screening the documentary "The Perfect Cappuccino" on Friday evening for the very first time in St. Louis.

Third, registration forms and the jam schedule are now available at our homepage (http://www.kaldiscoffee.com/)

Sign up quick! Space is quite limited.

Email me with any questions.

Cheers,

Mike Marquard

I won't be there but I can say the movie is a good one. I saw it in September at the KC International Film Festival. It's a good one. It is a very well done movie with and emphasis on the community surrounding coffee while still representing quality coffee very well. I worked a coffee cart giving away Italian Style capps in support of the movie and it was so cool to see people that hadn't had coffee in 20 yrs, come out after the movie and have their 3rd cup.

Y'all have a great time.
