This is a group set up for anyone who has a passion for tea, tea drinkers, tea tasters, tea bloggers, and tea wholesalers! This is a place to post your tea experiences for all to enjoy and learn from! Join in the passion- Enjoy a cuppa’ today!
Paradise Perks is finally going to open this month and a big part of our beverage menu is going to include 24 varieties of loose leaf teas, 12 fruit and flower flavored tropical teas in bags... still trying to learn about teas and also wanted to catch the tea wave in Southern California. But my La Marzocco is still going to get plenty of action. Start staff training today. Hopefully, we'll pass our occupancy and health inspections by the end of the week. Wish us luck!!
Tea is becoming a much more desired item in stores. It's one of the ways to offer a different but complimentary choice for customers that don't drink coffee (like my wife). The World Tea Expo has a ton of information for people looking to add more variety to their shops.
Sorry, but tea has no association with coffee, apart from the H20. Tea drinkers are even different to coffee drinkers. Think about it? This is a coffee group, next we will have a decaffe group.
BTW I had a good idea of providing quality tea to match our quality coffee at our cafe, I am still sitting on many tins of very good tea one year later and they are going rusty and tea drinkers still want all their many flavours. Tea drinkers are the only people that have bought their own tea bags into our cafe and asked for hot water.
Tea is an important part of a coffee shop. Most teas have a good dose of caffeine and can be brewed and served in a variety of ways. I still prefer espresso over tea, but I do enjoy learning about the history and traditions of tea preparation.
Never had ANY Tea, even from anybody like Intelli. At the SCAA, Counter Culture had some fantastic tea made from the pulp of the coffee bean from Adda Bettel's (SPELLING?) farm. I wouldn't even have tried it but Annette Moldvaer from Square Mile asked if I would like some and I would never tell Annette no ;) I was astounded! It was almost as good as the first shot of good espresso I ever had, an eye opener into a new world.
Indeed I too had a number of quality Rishi Tea's in their fancy tins for a year with very low sales. Switch to air tight glass cannisters similar to these (but without the "chalkboard") with my own labels. Sales increased dramatically. Currently offering 18 teas, 6 of 'em herbals.
I would add that I don't necessarily like the name of the group. While I believe in the viability of tea in a coffee house, sell loose leaf Teas by the cup and have started retailing to take home, and do in fact occasionally drink teas, I am not a Tea Lover per se.
Maybe something like Coffeehouses & Tea would be more appropriate since that seems the direction most posts have taken so far. Just my opinion.
Then again, maybe the intent of the Group really is for Tea Lovers, not people whose focus is coffee but want/need to learn more about tea so they can provide it for for said tea lovers who frequent their coffeehouses...
Just joined the ranks...the tea ranks that is. I want to learn more on incorporating tea into our completely sold our souls to coffee, but we are willing to entertain tea and do it well on the side. Rishi tea has really got my attention and we plan on using this tea in our shop. I can't rave enough on how good it is...and that is all I have to say for now.
Today, took a nice Wild Berry organic black tea and made the best organic vanilla soy latte... Very good. Basically, I will have to make a toddy tea mix to recreate these lovely tea lattes...we'll see.

Tea is my first drink of the day but I have to say espresso is always soon to follow.

This implies to me that this is for neither category, really, unless this is a new option for advertisers that I was previously unaware of.
