I avoid the blondes at Starbucks. Happily married, and intend to stay that way.

Well the commercial for it says they keep it light so the only roast it to the beginning of second crack! Ha! Cant say ive tried it or have plans on trying it. But i just read a review of it on a coffee site. But I cant remember where now

I'd never had a cup of *bucks. Went to the free sampling. They had the Veranda blonde, Pikes peak darker and one darker than that(can't remember name). They were on a table in small thermoses with little cups to try. My first thought was how little flavor there was in all of them. Just a difference in roast taste. Very little body/mouthfeel to deliver any flavor. Quite boring. I guess I see why most go for the darker roasts to get some kind of boldness. Aftertaste was not pleasant. I got a sample of the "Willow" other blonde blend to take home. I guess the aftertaste did remind me of willow sapwood. I tried to pull a shot with my Bezzera Strega lever, didn't work at all trying a couple different profile. It just brought out the off tastes more. I rarely drink industrial coffee to compare to but certainly was unimpressed with all of them.
