Hi Everyone,

I am having some issues with my Nuova Aurelia 2 group espresso machine.  Whenever we turn on the water spout, a loud buzzing takes place from the bottom of the machine.  It appears to occur when the machine is drawing water.  Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Steve

Sounds like the water supply to the machine may be restricted. Perhaps the water filter/softener cartridges need to be changed, the shutoff is turned off (either at the wall or inside the machine), or there is another water supply issue?

When the pump does not receive an adequate supply of water, it makes a really loud buzzing sound. Continued operation in this state will cause pump damage.

What does your water pressure gage read?

Listen to Brady. I deal with this same issue at least once a day with the accounts I support. Even though changing your filters seems expensive at the time just compare that cost to rebuilding the whole machine. Which is what happens if you let issues like water quality go on for a while. Lime and scale can build up in the boiler, heat exchangers, and water supply lines quite quickly once your water filters pass their effective lifetime. Depending on the volume of espresso you do you should be changing your filters once a quarter. More in high volume situations.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help
