New coffeehouse in Rose City Park neighborhood of Portland, OR seeking to hire individuals passionate about coffee, its craft, and the art of customer service.

The ideal applicant will have the desire to learn about and help guide our guests through rotating single origin varietals prepared via various methods: espresso, French press, pour-over, cold brew, and siphon.  Continuous interest in the science of coffee preparation and presentation is a must, including the participation in cuppings, weekly analysis of our products and service, and customer education on proper brewing methods at home.   An interest in participating in the coffee community by entering regional barista competitions and attending coffee events around town is highly encouraged.

As we are intent on creating a true neighborhood hub, we are looking for individuals who enjoy providing warm hospitality to our guests along with their coffee, tea, and pastries.  This also implies that we are looking for people who desire permanent positions as we build our tight-knit, coffee-centric community.

We offer extensive paid training, so while quality-oriented bar experience is a plus, anyone with a passion to learn about coffee and a drive to excel in the coffee industry is encouraged to apply.  All the basics apply – flexible schedule, ability to work early mornings and weekends, dependability, self-motivation, teamwork, money-handling ability, and high standards in even the mundane tasks are a must.
