Hey man, good to see another East Bay rep on here. I'm pulling together a team of kickass baristas to start a worker-owned cafe. I have 5 and need 2 or 3 more. We're all ex-Nomad (Oakland, on Shattuck) people but we're looking for some outside talent now. The current owner is running Nomad into the ground, and we're expecting him to give up and sell within the next few months, so we're trying to have everything in place for when that happens.
Anyway, as a Barefooter, I thought you might know some good east bay baristas who might be interested in running a baller cafe. I have a complete business plan up on google docs and a rough draft of our coop Bylaws, if anyone wants to see them. Cheers! Great coffee, by the way.
Sup Newbeezy, thanks for the sweet ups. I'm badge numero uno at Red Berry. Jeff (Hampton) says you're cute--OK, he didn't *say* that, but I know he thinks it.
Hi Andy- How are the Vespa's doing? We also have two P's ...a 1979 and a 2005 P150X. My favorite is my 1959 150 VBA. Check www.born2scoot.org for our local vespa club info in Monterey.
Andy: Can you tell me more info on the Dalla machine your using? What $$ I'm curious for us Canadians what we should be paying.
This is the machine I'm leaning towards as I can probably get a demo model for around $1000 less then full. The Synesco is also up there but really big bucks. I"d like to see if anyone has worked on both and which they prefer. I'm also considering La Marzocco.
