Toll roasting? Not really in the cards. I had a lady inquire about roasting a 20lb batch for her and we quoted her a 20lb green minimum at $3 per pound. That is admittedly discouraging. We run as lean as we can, which is the smart thing to do - I have years of production experience and encourage running lean. So that means we only roast to meet our needs and try to minimize waste (waste in product, waste in labor, etc.)

Wholesale? We are a 'roaster/retailer' meaning we don't push the wholesale side. We're not opposed to it, but our focus is more on Our product that We retail. You buy Our coffee from Our cafe. Granted, I'm not the voice of the owner, but this is what I have deduced from working there. We don't have a salesperson, and 100% of our wholesale accounts have come to us to sell our coffee, not the other way around. To answer you pricing question, I don't have that answer. If I come across a toll-roaster, I will let you know. I was looking into starting my own company last year, but the two roasters I knew went out of business, unfortunately.

I added some photos my husband took to advertise the exchange I want to do. I am also looking for more venues to check out any suggestions?

Nice. You probably know Jocylyn, then! Bird Rock is rad! The cafe I managed and roasted for, previously, was not "3rd wave" as much as I tried to make it (hey, SD business mentality is money-money-money) and so it's refreshing to work for Bird Rock!  The focus is 100% on the coffee and there is ZERO B.S.  This will be the opportunity I've waited many years for; to learn in this type of environment and adopt these standards of excellence.  I, literally, have no idea what to expect tomorrow - it's been a trip since moving down here!  I simply want to take what I can and make the most of it while I can, and I'm grateful to be able to take what Bird Rock has to offer.

Sorry, but there was no short answer to you very simple question!!!

Chase,

Thanks for the friend add. The location near Bry, (Downtown Vancouver, Washington) is a warehouse distributor. I don't have that address handy but if you call the main office of Flair Packaging Group 920-574-3121 they can provide you with a distributor near you. This is their website,

I do, a bit. And I didn't know about throwdown thursday and can't seem to find it. Could you post their link? Is it an online competition in vain of no foam latte art- facebook channel?

Thanks for the feedback! I've never been satisfied with my macciatos and I've felt them effers as necessary evils of the competitions.

They were all poured, photographed and eventually drank by me at me kitchen.
