If you thinking of anything under 200 dollars - get yourself a brand new "older version" of ( not a new version) the Nespresso. If you adjust the water dispenser and buy a quality pod ( e.g. Cafe Barbone) you will have a decent cup ( better than most places in the US make) If you want a cup like the one you get in a cafe in Italy - you are going to need to go close to and over 1000 There are some in-between Read thru these websites

It's not that tricky, and lots of tutorials are available.

Cheap machines, the stuff from Target, Mr. Coffee, Krups Machines, etc. - can't produce the pressure, consistent temperatures, or steam. Will likely break in a short amount of time. Sounds pessimistic, but I'm talking from my experience as my relatives prefer these to manual ones.

We've bought De’Longhi EC155 several years ago, but unfortunately, the machine only last a few months before leaking. I cleaned it religiously, and only when I disassembled it a bit did I see that there the culprits were multiple faulty parts such as washers and hoses that go bad far too quickly. We wanted to replace it by the same one, but in the result I went with the Mr. Coffee machine instead. And it's been way better.

If you really want to try automatics, then, honestly, I don't think there's a big difference between 50$ and 200$ machines, as long as you have a nice grinder.

It's just my personal opinion, but I'd be more than glad to answer your questions if you're still choosing.
You can check Mr. Coffee BVMC…tag:www.baristaexchange.com,2019-08-11:1688216:Comment:16632642019-08-11T05:56:41.882ZPrabir Adhikaryhttps://www.baristaexchange.com/profile/PrabirAdhikary
