The tube I use <i>is</i> rather wide, ... I just wanted to see if the concept would work - the tube I have now is rather simlistic and crude. It's kind of a temporary trial; I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to set a more permanent setup with restricted flow tip, perhaps even one that twirls for rotating steam (hey!) Even with the tube I have now, all it really needs is a quick blast before or after extraction - and not even on fully at that, so I'm confident the pressure/temp is not…

I can safely say that I've never seen this done. Kinda like the steam cup warmers that you see near the top of some machines. If you used a stock steam tip on the end of your tube it would be no worse for the boiler pressure than steaming a pitcher of milk.<br />

You could always put a tee in one of your existing steam lines and put in a solenoid steam valve and switch... that would be a pretty straightforward mod.<br />
