I can confirm that the generic e61 bottomless portafilter will not fit the gb5 as I have tried it myself with a spare one I had. There are a number places that sell the marzocco bottomless portafilter, but it is usually a bit more expensive than others. The ones with the plastic handle seem to be the cheapest, the rubber ones usually a bit more, although I like them better myself.

Why do you need to buy them just get you local machine shot to cut them on the lathe if you can find a good one they will do an awsome work and will cost you less then 20 $ for all of them. Make sure they smooth the edge after the cut.

My experience is that E-61 handles and LaMa handles are CLOSE but not interchangeable. Sometimes the shape of the ears messes the fit up. You can also try espressoresource.com. They've got a great selection and you can always talk to Michael or Angelo on the phone to confirm what you're buying will work.

Thanks Mike. I've been trying to avoid that site as I'll probably end up spending more money than I should...

I saw that they're selling a generic portafilter though, not OEM. From the description, I deduced that any bottomless portafilter for E-61 group will fit.

But this raises another question:
