I personally dig this one. There is enough fat content in there to make nice microfoam (with practice, of course) and it heats up nicely without, as advertised, "that beany taste". Pretty decent stuff, really.

We just did a taste test and froth test between silk, kikkoman (new product), and pacific.

The winner: PACIFIC (unanimous)

Second was kikkoman (a good product also), then silk.

Not a big fan of Silk. We ended up going with different soys: Organic Valley in the half-gallon for iced drinks, either EdenSoy or WestSoy Organic Original for steaming. Both the organic Eden and West only have two ingredients: soy and water. Eden steams and tastes a touch better, but both can be textured quite nicely and I've poured as good of art with either as I have with regular milk. We often have soy customers ask if we used cow milk by mistake because the drinks taste better than the…

interesting - we were considering a switch to VitaSoy because our Restaurant Depot started carrying it. We bought some two weeks ago - steamed and tasted much better than the Silk we've been using for four years. But we hadn't yet switched over, so this is good to know and timely.

Got the PacSoy this afternoon...Looks like I'll be taking the remaining 5.5 cases of Vitasoy home...Unless anybody wants a deal on them!
Thanks for all the input and ideas and recommendations.
The only thing supporting baristas more than Pac Soy? BX members, baby!

We use Silk Soymilk Organic Vanilla. It steams nice. We just don't let it get too hot. Stretch the milk very quickly and roll the milk sooner than regular milk.
