I could really use your help everyone. A friend of mine -who is an amazing roaster- is opening up to the public in Toronto ON, and wants to name his roastery "Tangerine Tree" (he roasts on a beautiful Orange Dietrich). He wants that logo smacked right on the beautiful orange Dietrich and I think he is making a mistake. "Tangerine Tree" IMO has nothing to do with coffee, and he shouldn't just pick a name based on the colour of his roaster, his argument is "coffee grows on trees, tangerine is…

"Tangerine Tree" IMO has nothing to do with coffee, and he shouldn't just pick a name based on the colour of his roaster, his argument is "coffee grows on trees, tangerine is a hip colour and it conveys energy, it is also his precious baby's colour "!!! not sure this a solid argument.

I need you to help me vote on the name that was originally picked "Blue Kettle", until

he changed his mind to "Tangerine Tree". Although I think "Blue Kettle" is not the best

This question may seem rudimentary, but I am curious what everyone's espresso bar layout looks like. I am in the process of designing a layout for my new coffee company and am trying to decide how to arrange the knockboxes, pitcher rinsers, and grinders. Would love to hear and see how you guys set yours up. Thanks in advance.

Which roaster has the best designed coffee bag artwork you have seen? What kind of info did you consider essential on the bag of a specialty roaster to build value and set them apart?

I am just beginning to draw a mental picture of the general look and feel of the coffee shop I'd like to create.

I was wondering what has inspired owners/baristas of existing shops when sitting down to put what they envisioned on paper and overseeing the creation of that vision? Or if you had to do it all over again, what would you change?

Do you prefer marble to wood floors? Laminates to standard table tops? A deep green to a brown color theme?
Hi bX'ers!

I woke up this morning with an idea, and I want to see it happen. Even I get a little bored of the same header on Barista Exchange at times, and I am wanting to change it, along with a little bit if style on the website. Instead of myself doing this on a weekend, I though I would reach out to the bX community and have a header design contest.

Anyone who is interested in designing a bX header can email me at baristaexchange@gmail.com and I will send you the bX logo and the fist icon for you to use in the artwork.

Here are the rules:

• Designs must be submitted by email by September 10th.
• You can submit up to 5 different header images.
• Header must be 955 pixels wide and 150-200 pixels tall.
• Designs must be submitted as .gif or .jpg
• Designs must use a variation of the Barista Exchange Logo, and hand holding portafilter.
• Additional text is discouraged beyond the logo, but can be submitted.

That's about it, and I encourage people to be creative.

I will be choosing 1 winner who's header design will go up for at least 1 month on the site, maybe longer. If there are multiple winning designs I will consider rotating to a new design, and this can become a bit more on going.

The first winner will receive a Barista Exchange T-Shirt in their size of choice (girls and guys shirts available) as well as a set of Espresso Parts Demitasse. Additional and future designs that are chosen will also receive a bX t-shirt and rotating prizes from bX sponsors.

The designers name will also appear in small print on the header image while the header design is up. ( I will add this )

All artwork that is used should be original or used with permission, i.e. photography, etc.

Thanks, and I hope this will be a fun project and can showcase some artistic abilities of our bXmembers. Again, email me at baristaexcahnge@gmail.com for more info if you are interested, and I can send the .eps logo to get you started.

Thanks,
Hey guys,
I need some light web design done for our company. Nothing to fancy, just some slick splash pages with hi res pictures and contact info. We just need to put something out there for now, but there could potentially be more work available down the road to build the whole site.
Bonus points for being in New England
Email or personal message me for more info if you're interested.

Hello my name is Alexis and I am a graphic designer. I want to learn from Coffee shop owners about issues they have with their interior store signage.
Does anyone have a particular website they frequent to buy signage for their store?
Where your needs met with the purchased signage?
Is there signage that you need that you can not find?

THANK YOU!
