SUMMARY:SCAA Instructor Development Program-Vermont
DESCRIPTION:The next Specialty Coffee Association of America Instructo
 r Development course will be hosted by Coffee Ed and will be held in V
 ermont at the Coffee Enterprises facility July 30th 2010. This course,
  designed by the SCAA Professional Development Committee, prepares par
 ticipants to deliver effective Adult Workplace Education. Topics inclu
 de adult learning concepts, designing effective PowerPoint presentatio
 ns, and classroom management strategies. All participants will be awar
 ded the SCAA Lead Instructor Credential* upon completion. “The IDP w
 ill prepare Coffee Ed course instructors, SCAA instructors and other p
 articipants on a variety of adult learning teaching techniques to prom
 ote coffee education” states Catherine Holly, Director of Coffee Ed.
  “Participants will gain an understanding of how to effectively comm
 unicate knowledge and skills, including maintaining an engaged audienc
 e through a variety of techniques.”\n\n\nThose looking for a relaxin
 g environment to learn will not be disappointed; Coffee Enterprises he
 adquarters overlooks Lake Champlain in Burlington, Vermont. On the lak
 e's distant edge you will see New York State and Juniper Island in the
  foreground. This idyllic setting will allow participants to learn and
  absorb the information in a peaceful, retreat-like atmosphere. Katlyn
  Morris, Coffee Ed Curriculum Coordinator, describes the facility as h
 aving “breathtaking views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mount
 ains…we are equipped with a state-of-the-art cupping lab as well as 
 a spacious conference facility overlooking the lake…”\n\n\nThe cou
 rse offering will be a one day event, held from 8am to 6pm. Registrati
 on is $80.00 per person, and includes lunch which will be served at th

 to register early.\n\n*All Lead/Station Instructors will be required t
 o have this credential by the 23rd Annual SCAA Exposition in Houston,
