About Me:: My fiancee and I moved to Portland in June '07. I am currently going to school to get my degree in Math. I got a job at World Cup Coffee about a week after we moved up here. I started learning latte art from the other baristas and slowly but surely started getting more into the 'coffee sciences.'

Thought alot about the ability to have the coffees that are in it available anf fresh year after year and what I wanted it to taste like. This is the result. You should try pulling a shot with a naked portafilter. It's freakin beautiful!

How about you take a day while you're at work and come up with some specific questions and perhaps I can start answering those for you. I would say the most important thing to start with though is making sure that you have perfect milk texture which it seems like from a few of these photos that you are producing consistently. The perfect milk texture will compliment and sometimes save an average cup of coffee. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

At 12:02pm on February 8th, 2008, Brent Fortune said…: Hey Matt. I just joined into this craziness. The official Portland competition already happened (at Coffee Fest Seattle - the NWRBC). There won't be another regional in the NW until fall 2008. One good piece of info is that the 2009 USBC will be in...... PORTLAND!!!!!

There are some things in the works in Portland, but not a regional/USBC format competition until the fall.
