All together now.

Over the past six months, or so I've been doing allot of reading. I've found that the most encouraging articles are those of baristas who have not been in the industry long at all, much like myself. Yet they have already competed in competitions, traveled all over the world, started their own business, or are just satisfied behind the bar. I find inspiration in these articles and stories, they drive me to learn more and to be vigilant despite how others may down play the importance of my abiliti… Continue

One of a million firsts

I participated in my first cupping today. It was amazing! It's like unexpressed poetry in liquid form. We used six different single origin coffees all from Kaldis. I can honestly say that it is my second favorite experience I've had in the last year, the first being attending the Midwest Barista Finals. To think that this is only the beginning, Wow, I'm blown away.

If you are still looking for help let me know. For starters, check out this forum http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/latteart (assuming that you haven't yet of course). Pretty much everything you need to know, excepting tactile experience, can be found there.

Do you want to try it by yourself, or with one other person?
I'm talking about the coffee shop, you mentioned that it's hard to get everyone together in place maybe others have lost interest in it. It's not easy but it can be done. Good Coffee, Good staff, Great location and last but not least,- Money (dough, cash, gravy). The first three things you can just reach out and grab , but the money will take some effort and cleverness. First thing to do is write down everything you will need to get started and everything you want to do for your place. From the coffee cups to the electricity work. everything even how many cases of cups you need and counters and fridges and plumbing.

That's allot for a Monday, you could just chill out get some coffee today, listen to some music and take your dog to the park. Oh,, there is one more thing you should do and I promise I'll stop bosing you around... give me your email address(if you don't mind) Why? so I can send you some coffee and some of the roasted Rwanda samples. Why do I need your email address?, because I wouldn't want you to give me your physical address over BX to protect your privacy.

I hope you have a good ms. winslow

Any progress on opening a cafe
I'm getting some coffee in from Rwanda soon, I just got confirmation on my shipment from Africa. I'm excited the coffee from Rwanda is really good but has not been available for a long time due to the government and some war stuff. Go Royals J/K
