The coffee world is a strange place, and moving around, away, and beyond makes it a little weirder. Fortunately for me, I still have the caffeine addiction and need to work.

Moved to San Fran, working in a new place. Trying to build my own hand cranked roaster, waiting for a place of my own. Maybe it's better to melt things yourself, get dirty, and learn a new trick for some old dawgs.

I miss san marcos, I miss texas, I miss being a rebel.

Finally my nerdom of coffee is met and challenged by other uber coffee nerds. I raise my imaginary drink in hand to the hopes of in depth coffee conversations spurred by this site.

Hi C.J.

My name is Dustin, I'm with a kopi luwak company out of San Antonio. I saw that you were in San Marcos, right down the road, and I just wanted to say hi. Check out my company's website, I started it as a project when I was in the Peace Corps.

I Tried some Celebes at about 415. It was interesting because Celebes is already a "funky" coffee that has mustyness about it, and a rich flavor. I thought; what if you could taste more of that without the "roastyness" . Well, I enjoyed but It wasn't anythng I could sell. But, wow it's nice to try some coffees before the are ready, you never know what you'll discover. It's raining a little bit today up here in Dallas what about down in your neck of the woods?

We received some samples from someone from Laos, and I roasted it to just after first crack (about 430) and that was for cupping purposes. We did also have a customer who wanted something very light and so I roasted a Colombian Ex. for him to about the same, just into first crack. How about you?

Hey CJ. Saw one of your comments in a roasting group. Your company is from the ground up? No 'professional' training? I'm moving deeper into the world of coffee, currently a home barista/roaster........ with the aim of starting my own biz one day. I'm inspired by your little organic company. Awesome!
