Chrisita,
I guess you know how to bake, but not brewing coffee and espresso yet, from your own description. I am not saying how brewing coffee is harder than baking, but due to the coffee industry's low developing level, it should be much harder to learn to make good coffee. You just go around those big city and try their coffee drinks, then you will know for sure.
The easiest way for you can be started from drip coffee. Forget about the espresso drinks at this moment, if it is possible. At this stage, your main service can be the food first. When it is ready, go for espresso drink.
I do not know if it is a proper advise or not, due to my poor knowledge about US market. You'd better to talk about it to local people.
Hope it can help.
