About Me:
The Valverde Brothers Coffee (Invalsa Coffee) started as an organic, Fair Trade Bolivian coffee online store. We have grown to become a company with physical presence (offices, warehouses and employees in Bolivia and the US.) The founders, Nelson & Jorge, were born and raised in La Paz, Bolivia, but attended Universities in the US (Dartmouth, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)). They started their first commercial enterprise when they were 16 and 10 -an aquarium store. Since then they have worked on Wall Street, State Street and Main Street, for large, international corporations, as well as businesses that they started themselves. In the US, Eleni (Nelson's wife) helps with Marketing and Joan is our Customer Service Manager. In Bolivia, Jaime is our Logistics Manager and Javier manages Infrastructure. Jorge is our Chief Coffee buyer and Nelson is our Head Roaster and makes sure all the bills get paid. We all enjoy our work and are proud of our service. We appreciate the good things in life and take the time to "smell the coffee." Give us a try.

We are coffee fanatics. Even though we drank it since we were young, it was not until early 2004, when we were looking for a business that would help the poor farmers in Bolivia, that we realized that fine coffee is like fine wine....but so much less expensive! It is indeed one of the few poor-man's affordable luxuries. We are talking about high-quality, hand selected coffee, not the commercial, commodity that is sold in most stores.

Our coffee is acquired through strategic alliances with coffee-growing, farmer-families cooperatives. It is then graded, processed, and warehoused for export in Bolivia and for distribution worldwide. Our objective is to manage your green coffee supply and to implement your Bolivian coffee supply chain strategy.

Our goal is to produce and source the highest-quality organic, Fair Trade-certified Bolivian specialty and premium coffees, while maintaining the Bolivian environment and improving the lives of our coffee-growing farmers and our surrounding communities.

Our target market is the home coffee roaster located anywhere (not just the US) and the independent commercial coffee roaster located in the US and Canada. We are large enough to inventory specialty and premium, graded-and-cupped, green coffee both in the US and Bolivia by the container load, but small enough to sell it by the pound, partial bag, full bag, pallet, or full container load (FLC). Of course, prices decrease as quantity increases, but we treat all our customers the same. We ship every business day and we will be more than happy to include you as one of our happy, satisfied, repeat customers. We sell roasted coffee and brewing equipment under our brand name, Cafe Valverde.

We are vertically integrated (exporter, importer, roaster, online retailer) so we don't depend on anyone else for quality control. Because of it, no one can beat our prices for comparable-quality and quantity Bolivian coffee. Try us and you will be amazed! Our business is large but very personal; we know our coffee grower's kid names (they are the best recruiting source for new cuppers) and we know our customer's tastes and quirks. If for whatever reason, your experience with us is less than exemplary, please send an email to president@invalsa.com . You will get a personal reply.

Everything we sell we have tried first ourselves. Only then, we are comfortable putting our name on the products we sell. So take the time, enjoy a good cup of coffee and send us some feedback. We love to talk about coffee! Can't you tell?

Hola Jorge,

Bienvenido a Barista Exchange!
El año pasado quise coordinar un viaje a Coroico durante la CoE, pero me fue imposible.
Tengo muchas ganas de visitar sus fincas, espero poder hacerlo pronto.

Un abrazo,
Federico
