Folks,

I need to purchase a POS system in the next few months and I can use some advice. My former employer Intuit has a system that interfaces with QuickBooks however I am concerned that it may not support my coffee shop very well. I would really love your thoughts and comments on other systems available that focus on the coffee industry.

Hi James,

I run Coffee shop as well and spent hell a lot of time finding smth suitable for my small business. I'm using www.ehopper.com and so far satisfied. It's free and will stay free with all features included, unlike competitors with limited time free trial or light package. It's quick efficient, easy to set up and intuitive to use. 24x7 technical & customer support.

I have to disagree with Ken. I have Coffee Shop Manager and have used it for almost three years with few problems. Staff that I have interacted with were helpful. When I opened a second store we used coffee shop manager for that, without any problems. Good luck.

I purchased Coffee Shop Manager almost a year ago. As far as the product goes, it's pretty well rounded. As far as the company/service goes, I am un-impressed. Several times I have left messages that were either left until the nest day or even over the weekend...mission critical calls-YIKES!
Also, there is not a toll free number provided for service & training, so plan that into your budget. Here, it costs $35 a month just for the capability to place long distance calls, even if you never use it. That's an additional $420 each year, plus calls. Would I reccomend them?--I could go either way.

I'd recommend ART. It's Advaned Restaraunt Technologies... A few of my customers have used other systems (Coffeeshop Mngr etc...) and spent the money to switch to ART. They're really happy with it. It's completely customizable and very in depth as far as reporting goes.

Haven't used it myself... just relaying what I've heard.
