Profile Information

What is your position in the coffee industry?
coffee roaster
Where are you located? ( City and Country )
Mumbai, India
How many years have you been in the industry?
Two
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
maybe
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I worked as the Chief Roaster for a micro roaster in Bangalore, India. I built up my roasting skills on a Diedrich IR 5 coupled with a lot of wolfing in of Rob Hoos's and Scott Rao's books. Also, not to forget all the blogs and roasting forums that have been very enlightening.
I have worked on Indian Coffee alone (which is striking in its own way). Diverse yet very familiar, the journey has been very exciting so far and I'm looking forward to a lifetime of doing this.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Turkey for starters, and mostly all the middle eastern countries for the original style in which they brew their coffee.
Ethiopia would be on my list next, not only for the producing farms but again, just to watch and hopefully participate in the native coffee ceremony.
About Me:
Running through books as if the apocalypse is chasing me seems to make up most of my time when I'm not at work.
I hope to become many things one day, a writer, a comic artist, a fermenting wizard, seems to top the list for now.
It will be ever evolving and before I'm done there will be many more added to this list.
About My Company:
The company I work for is one of it's kind. Dreamers, achievers, task masters, there's no end to the words I could describe them by.
We work, we have fun, we learn, we make huge circles of friends that are part customers and part staff. It is sometimes impossible to distinguish between the two.
We are also madly in love with our Indian Coffee and are constantly sharing our enthusiasm for it with everyone we come in contact.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Our ever evolving field has created these small ecosystems wherever we go that ties together all sorts of communities. beautifully.
