Metropolis was a highlight. I toured the space with Tony last summer when it was a raw and dilapited old warehouse. The enormous roasters and openness of the space are very impressive. My hats off to them for the great job they did.

My favorite memory was watching Jeff, the elder Dryfus, who must be close to 60, whip one contender after the next in ping pong. He had amazing and unpredictable spin on every shot and some of the dudes he humiliated looked like pros.

It was sad to learn that Chris Schooley is leaving for Colorado. He is a great guy and the most knowledgable coffee roast I know of.

Judging the GLRBC was greuling, having to taste 24 espresso drinks on Friday and 18 on Saturday I was a bit fried and happy when it was all done. I learned a lot and met a bunch of cool people. The Alterra first place espresso was roasted very light and tasted exactly like grapefruit.

Great job Trevor. Way to represent GR. I feel as though I had a small hand in your signature drink so I'm proud of your success.

Let's do it again!
Kurt

Just got the SCAA flyer about the party at Metropolis that night w/ live music, ethnic food, etc. (but I guess you guys already knew about that). Sounds like a good time!

I'm taking the train, so would really appreciate a ride Kurt; am staying w/in a mile of Navy Pier. Will call you Friday during the day if I don't run into you at the show first. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
