Hello, Baristas!!!   I would like to invite you to our Coffee Course, from Seed to Green, in Dota/Costa Rica.

The course is 7 days long, from Sunday to Saturday, and is totally hands on, you pick and mill your own coffee.

do I qualify as being a barista...I've worked for two years at Cafe Du Monde (New Orleans) but all we make there is cafe au lait

 I have a vague Idea and need some feed back, I live in Alaska and I am making a road trip down to California with my husband, who is a photographer. On the way I am planing to to hit up every coffee shop suggested for a day/few hours of learning/tasting, in exchange a free professional photo shoot of their shop late art etc and I plan to write a blog or review about it and be a promoter of the coffee shop simply because I am an enthusiast!! .

 its a vague Idea needs details any suggestions?

You know you are finally a good barista when: Your espresso grinder breaks mid quad shot latte, you switch your hopper over to the decaf grinder and adjust grind on the fly only based on particle size and feeling the grit in your hand. Followed by a beautiful pull. Majic moments.

The best advice I have is what I am about to do (crazy idea). I am circumnavigating the USA and stopping around shops. I will be working some places for a day or five and moving on to the next city to do it all over again. I am so excited. I leave in May for this epic journey. We should chat more about things of this nature.
