hey all, i installed my new (to me) 3 group semi-auto gb/5 tonight, and while the shots were pulling fine, the vacuum breaker on the steam boiler continued to hiss at a medium volume until i shut the machine off and bled the pressure off. does the gasket or teflon thingy in the breaker need to be replaced? is the gasket easy to find at a hardware shop? counter culture used to service it, i'm going to call them tomorrow but any help would be much appreciated.

other than that, this machine slays tho. i easily pulled the best shots i've had in ages without the grinder even being dialed in.

ok i got a new vacuum breaker and some o-rings from espressoparts - they're installed and no steam leak anywhere EXCEPT from somewhere in the pressure relief valve. considering it is, you know, a pressure relief valve, should there be a very slight hiss and steam leakage from there? i put a spoon down the little cylinder and it fogged it up just slightly. normal?

Ideally there are no steam leaks. My goal is always a dead quiet boiler. But a tiny hiss isn't really hurting too much. So I guess my answer is that a tiny bit of steam leakage is common, but not ideal.

Back in another life in IT field service I used to make "Road Warrior" white chocolate mocha by the half gallon (6 doubles) and put it still warm in 3 clean Sobe' bottles then refridgerate. It would keep fresh tasting for better than week. However,…

I am not a shop owner but from my observation I would take a look at serving gelato. It appeals to the entire family and not just coffee drinkers. The profit structure has got to be very high with the cost of a cup from $3-$5. I know one shop that o…
