This one's for the roastahs! Does anyone have any suggestions for a fast/effective way to clean out the little holes in the cooling tray? We have been vacuuming and using a rotating tool (time consuming) just wondering what other people are doing. On a day when I have 20 roasts they get pretty clogged and effect my cooling times, with not much time in between to clean well. Any thoughts would be great, thanks!

Diedrich had a great tool that comes in their cleaning kits which does an excellent job. Takes less than a minute and nothing has to be disassembled. They may sell you one individually. Contact them throught their website Diedrich.com.

This may have already been mentioned to you, I was at the USBC in Anaheim this year and on the show floor I saw a sweet rolling brush that reminds me of a mini mini street sweeper. I can't wait to order one. They were not quite on the market yet so the one I held was a display. The ultimate answer to cleaning the tray.

I think the wire brush thing is a good/cheap option. Also try a plastic brush with stiff bristles.
Save your $ for the real thing. Don't scratch up your cooling tray with a metal / steel brush. Bronze or brass ok. Plastic / daa , ok. The Rolster from this company http://www.coffeetool.com/ is not even listed on their web site yet. Must be a supply issue. Good idea not to list it or take pre-orders till your supply is ready.
Folks this is the solution and I don't work for the company. I roast with a Probat 5L and I'm not going to mess it up with a wire brush. Until I can get one of these "rolsters" I'm using a plastic brush and a shop vac.
I can't even begin to imagine how my roasting instructor keeps his 1 1/2 bag roaster tray clean.

a good shop vacuum will do the trick as well
We'd often use a long-handled brush with stiff plastic bristles and smack the bits down and out. Not the most attractive method, but effective.
I've got a big shop vac but it doesn't cut it. Many bean pieces left behind.
Hummmm, maybe if I could vacuum from the bottom like my probat does anyway but with more cfm's concentrated in a 3 square inch space. ( I'm over thinking it )
I will buy one of the for-mentioned brushes instead.
