Hi all!

The SCAA Pro Dev Committee members and SMEs are putting the finishing touches on the presentations for classes to be delivered at the 2011 SCAA Expo in Houston. I would like to liven them up with some more recent photography. Does anyone out there have photos to share? Anyone who submits photographs will be credited "courtesy of" and the photographer will also be credited if it's a different person. We could really use pictures of people roasting, cupping, brewing, or interacting with customers. For many of our slides it is just nice to have photography along with "Course Objectives" and "Housekeeping" and slides like that- so they could be of virtually anything roaster/barista/coffee/customer/workplace related.

Please email to elliem at scaa dot org, or if they are large files, just email me and I'll give you access to a DropBox folder where they can be placed. Thanks so much!!

Is the SCAA expecting people to give their work for free?  Or are you offering to pay for the images?

Further, what are the usages for these works?  One time or are you expecting multiple uses in perpetuity?

Thanks Alex!  I just responded to your email as well.  I remember seeing some of your photos from RGR on FB or something like that and remember there were some serious gems!

Jay- it depends.  I wouldn't use the word "expecting" but it is typically the case that coffee people are eager to share their photographs with the industry.  If you're interested in contributing, please send me an email.

All the best,

Ellie

Alex, now that Ellie has them I'm gonna delete your original.  Nothing personal, its just that there are bots in these parts that will find those addresses useful.

Alex's addresses are BaristaAlex at gmail dot com or WhyNot dot Editors at gmail dot com

Something that this thread has made me realize - I think we can add "photography" to that list of frequently-overlapping coffee-people interests...
