Event Description
The Specialty Coffee Association of America presents the 2008 Regional Skill Building Workshop, hosted by Dilworth Coffee in Charlotte, NC. Four Classes will be offered, two cupping classes with Andrew Miller of Cafe Imports, and two espresso classes with Jason Dominy. Sign up soon, as space is limited for these classes!
Saturday night Dilworth Coffee will also host a Barista Bash and Latte Art Throwdown. There will be prizes for the best drinks. (Prizes are on the Latte Art Throwdown events page, but first place gets a home espresso package, including Rancilio Silvia!) Sunday morning we are proud to be offering a Latte Art Workshop with one of the best instructors in the world, Ellie Matuszak. It's sponsored by the Barista Guild of America, and BGA members get a discount. You don't want to miss this exciting weekend of coffee, crema, and community!
THIS JUST IN. ALL ESPRESSO CLASSES AND THE FIRST CUPPING CLASS WILL COUNT TOWARDS THE NEW BARISTA CERTIFICATION, TO BE UNVEILED IN ATLANTA AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE. THIS IS THE FIRST PLACE TO TAKE THEM! GET A HEAD START BEFORE CONFERENCE! ALSO, LEVEL ONE CERTIFICATION TEST WILL BE OFFERED! UPON PASSING OF THIS TEST AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASS TO BE OFFERED AT CONFERENCE, YOU WILL BE LEVEL 1 CERTIFIED! THIS IS THE ONLY LEVEL THAT YOU CAN TEST OUT OF!

Certification is here. We worked very hard last weekend in Atlanta to get it finished, the details went out to all BGA members today with their newsletter. I, personally, am excited about it.
